The work
What we paint, inside and outside the house
Most of our work is on houses: rooms, ceilings and trim inside; siding, brick and trim outside; kitchen cabinets, stairs, decks and fences in between. We also paint offices and storefronts, repaint rentals between tenants and finish new construction. The repairs that decide how long paint lasts, such as drywall patches, plaster cracks and rotted sills, are part of the same jobs.
Rooms, ceilings, trim and the color decisions that go with them. 8 services.
Kitchen cabinets, stairs, railings and stained interior wood. 4 services.
Drywall, plaster, popcorn, wallpaper and stains fixed before paint. 7 services.
Siding, brick, stucco, trim, doors and the wood repairs under them. 9 services.
Stain, restoration and paint for the wood and metal outside. 6 services.
Businesses, HOAs, rentals, listings and new builds. 6 services.
How a job runs
How a job runs, from the first call to the cleanup
The call
Phones are answered 24 hours a day. Tell us what needs paint, roughly how big it is and where the house is.
The walk-through
We look at the surfaces with you, check how the old paint is holding, probe soft wood and talk through colors.
The written scope
You get the surfaces, prep, primer, paint line, coats, colors, price and a start date in writing.
Prep and protection
Floors, furniture and shrubs are covered; surfaces are washed, scraped, sanded, caulked and spot-primed.
The coats
Finish coats go on in the order the scope sets out, with exterior days planned around the weather.
The walk-around
We go over the work with you, touch up anything you point out and take our trash with us.
In writing
What goes into every written scope
A quote that leaves out the prep is not a quote you can compare. Ours lists the work in enough detail that you can hold it next to any other painter's and see the differences line by line.
- Every surface included, room by room or side by side
- The prep for each: washing, scraping, sanding, caulking
- How soft or rotted wood is handled
- Where primer goes and which primer
- The paint or stain line and the sheen
- Colors, by name and code
- The number of finish coats
- How floors, furniture and plants are protected
- The start date and expected working days
The office
Where the work happens
Our office is at 2321 4th St in downtown Tucker, in DeKalb County, about 15 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta. Every job is scheduled from there.
Most of our work is in Atlanta and the towns around it in DeKalb, Gwinnett, Fulton, Cobb and Rockdale counties: Tucker, Decatur and Stone Mountain close by, Brookhaven, Dunwoody and Duluth to the north, Conyers and Snellville to the east, and older city neighborhoods such as Ansley Park and Druid Hills. See every place we paint.
