Short answer
Interior painting in Atlanta runs $400 to $1,602 per room in Angi's 2026 Atlanta figures, with an average near $1,101 for one room. Wall repairs, ceiling height, trim and big color changes move the price most. A bedroom is often one day; a whole floor takes several. Call and we will walk the rooms and write the scope.
What gets fixed before the first coat
Most tired interiors look that way for reasons color cannot fix: nail pops, hairline cracks at inside corners, old anchors, caulk shrunk away from the baseboard and shiny squares left by touch-ups in the wrong sheen. We fix those first, and water or smoke marks get a stain-blocking primer so they stay buried.
Furniture moves to the middle under plastic, floors get covered and plates come off. Edges are brushed by hand, walls are rolled top to bottom in full lengths so the sheen dries even, and trim goes last so its lines stay crisp.

What drives the price
What moves the price of an interior repaint
Room count sets the baseline. These five decide where your house lands in the range.

Wall condition
Patching, crack repair and stain-blocking primer can outlast the finish coats on a worn wall.
Ceiling height and stair halls
Rooms over nine feet and stairwells need taller ladders or planks.
Trim and doors
Baseboards, casing and doors are brushed in enamel and add time to every room.
Color changes
Deep red to off-white, or the reverse, can call for primer or a third coat.
Furniture and contents
Full rooms take longer to move, cover and reset than cleared ones.
Whole-home repaints
Painting every room at once makes sense before a move-in, after a renovation, or when every color in the house dates from the same tired era. It also gets you one ceiling white and one trim color instead of years of mismatched touch-ups. We work in zones, a floor or a wing at a time, so furniture shuffles only once per room. Shared walls, stair halls and open sightlines are planned together, because a color that stops at the wrong corner is obvious from the front door.
Single rooms and refreshes

Plenty of interior jobs are one room: a nursery, a bedroom a teenager has outgrown, a dining room the last owners painted a color you never liked. One room still gets full prep, because patching and caulk decide how a wall looks more than the paint does. If you only want walls, we tape off the ceiling and trim and leave them alone. A single room is also a low-risk way to try a color, and we write down the exact color, brand and sheen so the next room can match it.
Occupied-home scheduling
Most interior work happens with people living in the house, often with kids, pets and someone working from a spare bedroom. We order the rooms so a bathroom, a bedroom and the kitchen stay usable, and each morning we tell you which rooms are off limits. Waterborne wall paint is dry to the touch within hours, so a bedroom painted in the morning is usually fine to sleep in that night with a window cracked. Trim enamel stays soft longer, so doors are left ajar for a few days. Pets do best behind a closed door away from wet walls.

Around Atlanta
Housing ages across DeKalb County and what they mean for your walls
DeKalb County housing spans every era: in the school district's ACS figures, 26.5% of homes went up before 1970, 49.2% between 1970 and 1999 and 24.4% in 2000 or later. Each era paints differently. Older houses often carry oil-based trim enamel that latex will not grip without a bonding primer. The middle decades bring nail pops and textured ceilings. Newer homes usually need careful patching and a better paint than the builder used.

Questions
Interior House Painting questions we hear in Atlanta
No. Take down wall art and clear shelves; we move and cover the furniture.
Two as standard. A dramatic color change or fresh drywall patch can need primer or a third coat, noted in the scope.
Yes. We sequence rooms so you always have a bedroom and bathroom to use.
Matte or eggshell for living areas and bedrooms, satin for kitchens, baths and kids' rooms, semi-gloss for trim.
Yes, if you want them. They are listed separately because they take more cutting in than their size suggests.
Nail pops, small holes and cracks are part of normal prep. Larger damage, like soft water-stained board, is priced as its own line.
