Alpharetta, Fulton County
Alpharetta painting for 1990s homes, townhomes and storefronts
Alpharetta stayed small until the 1980s, then more than quadrupled in ten years. Most of its houses date from that growth, and downtown adds over 600 businesses to the painting list.

Short answer
Alpharetta homes are mostly from the 1990s, which built 34.6% of the city's housing, followed by the 1980s at 22% and the 2000s at 19.6%. A house from those decades usually needs a full exterior repaint with some trim repair. The city also has over 600 downtown businesses and the Avalon development, which bring storefront and office painting.
Homes in Alpharetta
From an 1858 charter to a 1990s building boom
Alpharetta was chartered on December 11, 1858, near the New Prospect Camp Ground, and was part of Milton County until Milton merged into Fulton. It stayed small for a long time: 3,128 people in 1980, then 13,002 by 1990, a 315.7% jump in one decade. The 2020 census counted 65,818.
Housing tracks that growth. Census estimates show 22% of homes built in the 1980s, 34.6% in the 1990s and 19.6% from 2000 to 2009. Detached houses make up 55.5% of the stock, single-family attached homes 11.2%, and 11.5% sit in buildings of 50 or more units. About 65.1% of households own their home.
Downtown and the 86-acre Avalon development, opened in 2014, add shops, restaurants and offices to the mix. For houses, the jobs are full exterior repaints, siding and trim. Siding from those decades holds paint well while it is sealed, but hardboard boards left bare at the bottom edge soak up water and swell. For businesses, painting is scheduled after hours or in sections so the doors can stay open.
