Short answer
North Buckhead joined the city of Atlanta in 1950, and suburban building followed. Its interior streets hold 1950s and 1960s brick ranches and bungalows, while larger traditional homes and new construction sit near Wieuca Road and the Sandy Springs line. The work runs from limewash on old brick to finish painting on brand-new walls.
Homes in North Buckhead
Annexed in 1950, built out in brick, rebuilt in places
North Buckhead became part of Atlanta in 1950, and suburban development followed. The Wieuca Inn, which stood where the Roswell-Wieuca shopping center is now, came down in 1955. With 8,270 residents at the 2010 census, it ranked as Atlanta's fourth most populous neighborhood, bounded by Sandy Springs to the north, Peachtree-Dunwoody Road to the east and Roswell Road to the west.
Its housing is described as the most varied in the Buckhead cluster. The residential interior has tree-lined streets of 1950s and 1960s brick ranches and bungalows on lots from modest to half an acre or more. Near Wieuca Road and the Sandy Springs boundary, large single-family homes and new construction take over.
That spread gives two kinds of painting work. On the older brick houses it is limewash or mineral paint, wood trim repair and updated interiors. On new houses it is finish painting on the builder schedule, or a first repaint once the original paint starts to show wear.

Questions
Painting questions from North Buckhead
Limewash suits bare, unsealed brick and wears gently over time, letting some brick show through. Mineral paint gives a more even, longer-lasting color. We test a patch of each on your brick before you decide.
Yes, for builders and owners. We follow the build schedule for interior and exterior coats and come back for touch-ups after the final walk-through.
Yes. Interior limewash gives a soft, mottled finish. It needs a mineral primer over drywall and suits living rooms, dining rooms and entries.
Yes. Older textured ceilings may need an asbestos test before scraping, which we ask about first. Then we scrape, skim and paint the ceiling flat.
