Short answer
Sherwood Forest was established in 1949 and sits between Ansley Park and the Downtown Connector, across the highway from Brookwood Hills. The neighborhood association describes an eclectic mix of modern and traditional architecture, so painting here ranges from wood trim and brick on older houses to large, smooth wall surfaces on modern ones, inside and out.
Homes in Sherwood Forest
A 1949 neighborhood with modern and traditional houses side by side
Sherwood Forest dates to 1949. Ansley Park borders it on the south and east, and the Downtown Connector runs along its northwest edge, with Brookwood Hills on the far side. The city groups all three in Neighborhood Planning Unit E with Midtown. The first section of the Connector, up to the Brookwood Interchange, opened in 1951, and the highway was widened in phases between 1976 and 1989.
The neighborhood association describes wide streets, skyline views and an eclectic mix of modern and traditional architecture, within walking distance of the High Museum, the Botanical Garden and Piedmont Park.
That mix shapes the painting. A traditional house brings wood trim, shutters and doors that need scraping and enamel. A modern house shows every roller lap on its large, plain walls, so the prep and the final coat matter more than the color. Houses along the highway side can collect a film of road grime, which has to be washed off before any paint will bond.

Scheduling
Getting a Sherwood Forest job onto the Tucker calendar
Sherwood Forest jobs are scheduled from our Tucker office. Call at any hour, tell us the street and whether it is the inside, the outside or both, and we set a time to walk the house with you. Exterior work goes on dry-weather days, and on a modern house we plan wall-by-wall so each large surface is rolled in one go, without a break mid-wall.

We keep a wet edge, roll each wall from corner to corner without stopping, and plan the day so no wall is left half done.
